This type of nanny service is for children with physical, developmental, or behavioural challenges who need more than what a caregiver can handle in typical services. These caregivers are trained to be patient, kind, and methodical when offering targeted support, based on the child's condition, therapy routines, way to communicate, and emotional/social needs.
As we coach families and therapists to help special children thrive, we build on these skills at home instead of in an unstructured environment or a therapy session. Special children deserve this experience in a planned, loving home environment (with dignity, safety, and guidance).
Individualized Routines: Providing support with feeding, bathing, dressing, and toileting, no matter what the child can do (and be comfortable with).
Therapy Support and Exercises: Support meaningfully in prescribed physical, occupational, or speech therapy exercises, with input and guidance from the parent or therapist.
Special Feeding: Tube feeding or making foods in a specific way according to nutritional guidelines, medical requirements, or sensory needs.
Behavioural & Emotional: Patience to tolerate mood change, helping to redirect with either planned or sensory tools that help them get calm and engaged.
Health Monitoring: Helping to monitor and communicate changes in perceived health (we are not doctors and only monitor what is observed), or changes in moods or behaviours that are significant, or not positively responding to supportive therapies.
Safety & Mobility: To add our protective considerations, and help (if equipment is required) to prevent self-injury or falls within the home environment.
